Our story
Khai and Ngoan Tran came from Vietnam in 1982 and opened Jane's on Jane Street in 1991. It remains a family-run New Iberia favorite for boiled seafood and Chinese food.
From Vietnam to Jane Street
Before opening Jane's, Khai Tran worked as a fisherman. What began as a way to support his family became a New Iberia staple.
Still family run
Daily operations are led by Khai's youngest son, Vu Tran, with family still involved across the restaurant. That family foundation remains part of Jane's identity.
Recognized at home
Best of the Teche readers honored Jane's for portions, wait staff, po-boys, boiled seafood, gumbo, and prepared food. The recognition reflects strong local support.
